Places that i have stayed before part 2

Regensburg, Germany.

I was there for 3 months, experienced Winter and Spring. I experienced the coldest Winter in my life, it was -16 deg C. I swear you can't walk on the street more than 15 minutes. To me, it's fun! LOL! I like to see snow....falling from the sky.But walking in the snow can be awful.

This place is an old town, a district in Bavaria, famous with Alps and food. The Bavarian Alps define the border with Austria, and within the range is the highest peak in Germany, the Zugspitze.

The people...Generally Germans are quite self-righteous,they do not speak other languages and not easy to mix with. Probably they do not speak well in Engish.Make sure you know some key German words or equipped with a pocket dictionary, as the public places are not English friendly :(

Bavarians tend to place a great value on food and drink.
I miss the food here a lot....nd of course the beers!

Schwein braten-the most common dish in upper Bavaria. Pork served in slices with gravy, accompanied by Knödel (Smashed potato ball)

Schweinshaxe Grilled pork joint often served as half with Knödel and sauerkraut, best goes together with weissbeer!!!!

Nürnberger Bratwurst mit Sauerkraut- Smallest among all sausages in Bavaria, this one become famous all over Germany.Fried sausages served with sauerkraut is a speciality from Nürnberg

The standard serving for a beer is 0,5l " eine Halbe" beer is traditionally served by the litre in Germany

Dunkles (meaning "dark") that has a stronger taste because it is brewed with more malt. This one beats all kind of beers from other country .....taste so smooth and a bit sweet.

Weißbier - literally meaning "white beer" - is made of barley and wheat. It tastes more sour than Helles

Helles - which means "pale" .It is a type of lager beer, similar to the pilsener, but contains less hop and tastes sweeter.

All about food, right? Ya,other than the township, all i miss is the food :)

Places that i have been a while, Part 1

I like four seasons countries, I have been study abroad in UK to get my degree. It's a lovely place....very peaceful.I stayed a year in Hertfordshire, very close to the English capital-London, it's only 45 minutes travel in train to London,so almost every weekend we hang around in London.
London is also one of my favorite city,I still amazed with this city which is one of the largest financial center filled with wide range of peoples, cultures, and religions, yet it offers a great variety of Leisure, entertainment, cultural events..many many more...You will sure fall in love with this city once you landed your foot steps here. It's very convenient to walk around in London with the well connection of the underground tubes.

I still remember there is a movie starred by Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant called "Notting Hill" in the same year when i was in UK, we purposely take the tube and explore this quiet street where the filming took place...Feeled the romance in the air!

The place that i shopped a lot in Watford

Poo Daddy and I planned to return for a visit in a couple of years later...Hope he does not disappointing me ..:)

Stayed tuned for part 2...

Stay or go???

Talked to Poo Daddy....about our future and Mr Bao's future...Looking at the situation now..the government>>>fighting parties, education >>>messy, environment>>>lack of safety, the whole country is going backwards...Foresee in next 10-20 years, our kids future will be very much tougher. So, shall we do something for our kids? Shall we stay here in this home ground where our families are or shall we move???Still an undecided action.

Poo daddy and i have been to overseas for our tertiary study, we both like the weather, environment and life style there. We did not stay back to work at that time as we did not aggressively looking for a job there, we rather came back to our home ground. But after all these years,we see....we hear...we feel...the country that brought us up fails us...Do we want our kids going thru the same pain like us???It's hard to decide to go for better place for the good of our kids or to lay back here where all the friends and families are, despite of all lousy systems, dramatic pictures in our politics and government.

17 months old Gary

I intentionally set up this blog for little Poo-Gary, but along the way i post....it turns up to be Rojak...LOL!

It's time to give little update on Gary, he turned to 17 months old yesterday, time flies...Hope it really flies, like I blink once it's already one month passed :), so i blink 20 times, Poo daddy is already back for good !Hooray!

Mr Bao ( Do not get confused, Mr Bao= Little Poo= Gary), Poo Daddy likes to call him Mr Bao, i do not know why ?!Ok, back on track....Mr Bao still taking max 2 times milk a day, glad is he finally takes back milk milk after close to one month battle with me.This also proofs Doctor is right,Dr Lim advised me to go back to principle:
1)Do not give any other food 2-3 hours before feeding time.
2)Do not give him to many variety of foods,no strong taste of food.
3)Do not force him to drink, let it come naturally, he will drink back the milk when he feels like it or when he is hungry
4)Do not give other food till he finished his milk.

Though sometimes Mr Bao did not finished the whole bottle (7 oz) in the morning, probably he finsihed 3 -4 oz, but i already feel grateful that finally he wants milk.
Good thing is he can finished the whole bottle during night feed before he go to bed!

Mr Bao still in his 9-9.3kg weight range,no significant gain in weight, but can see him growing taller a bit, maybe he is > 75cm now.

He understand me very well, whatever i said to him he seems understand and react to what i instructed him.He knows part of his body now, knows his surroundings, transportation....his favorite is "Bah"= Bus...When he see bus, he will point to it and say "Bah", then when he see motorbikes, he move his arms and said "ngmm ngmm" which suppose to be "vroom vroom"..Ha, my boy still can't speaks well.

Apparently, he picked up Mandarin faster than English, this maybe bb sitter talks to him in Mandarin as well as others.Only me and Poo daddy are talking to him in English most of the time.No worry about this, i think he can then pick up English later.

His Character = short temper!!! Easy to get angry when we rejecting his request. Then he will pull himself down on the floor, swim forward and backwards..."Fat Lan Char"....Very funny, i can't get angry when i see him like this, but laugh at him....it just too funny.

Oh, he has almost all his teeth popped out now, can bite all kind of foods, including my arms.Still addicted to chut chut (Pacifier), how to get rid of this???...headache!He can almost eat by himself,he knows how to use fork and spoon and can position it very well to his mouth.

See so addicted...even the cover of pacifier also can put in his mouth

He is having his favorite fish ball..

Mr Bao.....laughing happily seeing his daddy on the PC

momentum in life

Do you have a dream? What is your dream?
My dream is very simple...
Wake up early each morning, make a set of English breakfast for Poo Daddy, myself and little Poo....We go to work after breakfast and Little Poo go to school...I cook dinner each day for Poo daddy and little Poo,imagine both of them sitting on the dining table waiting for their food :) 3 of us then squeeze in a couch, watching TV....then Poo Daddy read bed time story for little Poo before go to bed.We go parks...shopping..watch movie....sports together during weekends....
Above is my dream,a very ordinary life to everyone....but for me, it's only a dream.
We've made a very difficult choice in our life and because of this, Both Poo daddy and i were separated by distance....We dream for each other in different corner of the globe each night.
As we chat about future, Poo daddy said we are his momentum to move forward...Without me and little Poo, his life is meaningless...whatever he strikes now will not serve any purpose.
Very soon....very soon... our dream will come true, we just have to hold on for a little while.Poo Daddy will drive us to the destination with his full momentum!!!

Chinese? English???

I'm Chinese educated since kindergarten,Chinese is my mother language, first word i know is not "A..B..C" but "一。。。。二。。。。三". I have never never doubt my Chinese standard until recently.... Friends around me said:"Oh, ya...u sure u are Chinese educated?" Oh my god! Is my mandarin that bad?! I admit that i may mixed a little Cantonese slang, that's always common for "Ipoh Mari". LOL!
So, i gave myself a reading test, i tried to read a paragraph in a Chinese article, and you know what, i couldn't read smoothly like the old school days! I stopped every 3-5 words...Oh gosh, i almost want to hide myself under the table.

I told my best friend of mine (my ex-schoolmate) that my Chinese is being challenged by colleagues and friends, and she didn't believe me.In her memory, my Chinese is good,as i always scored high marks in essay writing, and even submitted post to magazines.

Guess i have returned whatever i have learned from school to my teachers. In today's working environment,we use English most of the time, i would say since we graduated from High School, we no longer speak and write Chinese, gradually i have lost the power of mastering this language. Will it be too late to pick it up again?I still strongly believe nothing is too late :)

I will definitely send my little Poo to Chinese school, i always proud for myself as a Chinese educated student.Well...Do not fool yourself, it's no longer English education system now in our primary school unless you send your kids to International School.
A very good example is Poo Daddy, who is a banana....He regrets that he does not know Chinese and missed out a lot of interesting stuffs in his life, books..entertainments...and now even work is hard for him in China :(

Do remember one thing, your kid's future count on you, one simple action from you decides their future!!!
